Disney’s Advertising Sales Research team is seeking talented people to help create the future of Television and lead the advertising industry into the future.
The Disney Ad Sales Research team delivers actionable insights to drive ad sales revenue. This department supports the entire Disney media portfolio including Disney, Hulu, ABC, ESPN, FX, Nat Geo and Freeform, as well as the entire ad sales organization including the enablement teams.
Our goal is to remain on the cutting edge of cross-platform research by turning data into insights and managing research ranging from brand effectiveness to custom thought leadership studies. We leverage expertise in media, qualitative and quantitative methodologies and data analysis to help shape research design and drive actionable findings.
Job Summary:
The Senior Analyst of MP Research will support a team positioning the Disney media brands and pre-sales support. This role will support Ad Sales requests and work collaboratively across internal stakeholders, including our Brand Solutions, Sales Communications, and Category Strategy teams to inform client recommendations. This role will primarily develop sales stories using data from a combination of Disney sources, third-party vendors and syndicated research. This role will leverage knowledge of media research tools to help show advertisers and agencies the power of the Disney portfolio.
This person will be responsible for delivering timely responses to requests as well as supporting the creation of go-to-market materials.
The successful candidate will work directly across internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and external research vendors to support solutions to position all brands and content under the Disney umbrella (Hulu, ABC, ESPN, FX, Freeform, National Geographic and more) across the across linear and digital. Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
- Leverage proprietary and syndicated tools to create and present analyses for internal and external clients that tell Disney’s story to the marketplace and advertiser clients.
- Create materials and stories related to Entertainment Content airing on Disney brands (Hulu, Disney+, ABC, ESPN, FX, Freeform, National Geographic and more) and develop actionable insights to help tell the story that best positions the Disney multiplatform portfolio.
- Support the Ad Sales team with research and analytics, including but not limited to audience data, marketplace research and industry awareness.
- Create and report on custom media targets based on media briefs and RFPs, helping Account Executives create prospecting tools in pre-sale efforts.
- Work collaboratively across the Ad Sales organization to create marketing collateral and campaign proposals, providing the necessary research to support and sell through advertising solutions.
- Ability to work well and independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Consult with sales and advertiser clients to provide them the context to help optimize Disney media plans and buys
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
- 3+ years of media experience at a fast-paced web publisher, media agency, or TV network.
- Proficient with syndicated media research and analytics tools: Nielsen Media Research (NPower, NNTV), Comscore Video Metrix, MRI, Tableau, Lake5.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of media planning and media math (reach, frequency, audience composition, coverage, etc.).
- Knowledge of the media landscape and preferably the streaming media landscape.
- Ability to communicate at all levels both verbally and in writing with attention to detail.
- Team player with the ability to take on different assignments/projects in a timely manner.
- Strong interest in finding stories in the data through in-depth analyses and compiling compelling stories through data storytelling.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve as well as effectively collaborate with various teams.
- Bachelor of Arts/Sciences preferred in Social Sciences, Business, Communications, Mathematics, or another related field.

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $98,600 - $132,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
