The Senior Finance Analyst will be joining the Regional Finance team to support the Licensing and Publishing business line of business as part of Disney Consumer Products (DCP) in South East Asia, India and Middle East North Asia (SAMENA) cluster. This is an important role in a region with multiple and diverse markets where consolidation and analysis of the financial results of these markets becomes critical.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the role will be primarily responsible for: (1) Financial planning and reporting (2) commercial analysis (3) advisory support to the business teams on financial issues.

The key responsibility of this role is to ensure timely consolidation of the results for the SAMENA DCP business for purpose of delivering accurate and meaningful performance measurement for the business. The role will collaborate closely with the Finance teams in the markets and APAC finance teams in planning & reporting deliverables with key focus to ensure target achievement through proactive engagements and deeper analytics. He/She will also be involved in quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting and long-term planning as well as preparing presentation decks to deliver key insights to the management.  He/She will also need to work closely with Finance Controllers and Accounting Shared Services team on closing activities.

The role will also be supporting the SAMENA DCP business teams in a number of ways including providing timely financial information, trend analyses and insights to markets’ performance as well as supporting any other initiatives led by the Business leads and teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the financial planning and reporting processes with accountability to drive performance in the cluster
  • Manage quarterly forecast and annual budgeting process for the region including consolidation and presentation decks preparation. Ensure prompt submission of financial reporting deliverables to Global  & APAC Finance teams
  • Perform detailed analyses of business performance by tracking revenue & expenses and providing variance explanations and meaningful and concise commentaries to key stakeholders
  • Support business teams in deal analysis by providing financial information and working closely with the Contracts Admin team to ensure timely contract execution
  • Support in analyzing gap analyses, new business opportunities & initiatives within the markets, interpret and analyze data with the Business team
  • Facilitate quarterly financial closing activities with Local Finance Leads and Shared Accounting Team in Shanghai, including managing costs and expenses of the SAMENA Regional Team to ensure that costs are maintained within budgets
  • Sharing and implementing of global, regional & local Finance best practices
  • Ad-hoc Project works as assigned

Requirements:

  • 5 years of work experience
  • A relevant degree in Finance / Accounting
  • Experience in regional markets is preferred
