Commerce, Data & Identity provides the core product management functions for areas crucial to Disney’s media businesses. The Data Measurement tools team build tool sets that profiles, audits, certifies, and communicates the consistency, accuracy, availability, and resilience of our data. We build, maintain, and monitor thousands of signals required to ensure that our data can be used to drive critical insights on our business, to provide quality input to our machine learning models, and to serve as a foundation for the innovation and creativity required to move us forward as the world’s premier streaming service.
About The Role
As a Senior Software engineer on the Data Measurement Tools team, you will provide the technical and business skills to build tools that ensure Disney data is trusted. The ideal candidate will help to visualize and build tooling that define, measure, support and certify the data pipelines and systems that serve data to our business and millions of users. Core responsibilities for this position include:
Responsibilities
Design tool sets , add new features and design architecture for all the Data measurement tooling.
Work with product to mockup new UI changes , functionalities
Set up environments, versioning and manage period releases for the various tools
Ensure scalability and optimization of the Data measurement tools to ensure it performs effectively
Coordinate and assist with rollouts to various partner teams
Build integration into new pipelines, new tools, new teams , new databases
Perform code reviews and collaborate to implement new functionality with the team.
Plan and execute demos of the tool to leadership and other users/stakeholders
Good SQL and database knowledge to create or modify the backend tables that the tool inserts data into.
Automate processes, procedures, and workflows to ease product implementation and release etc
Basic Qualifications
BS in Mathematics, Information Systems or related degree/experience
Experience in programming languages like Python
5+ years experience in designing toolsets
Ability to read/write complex SQL queries to analyze data
Familiarity with statistical methods for assessing and evaluating data
Experience working with at least one or more industry-standard database technologies (mySql, Snowflake, Hive) Exceptional written and oral communication skills that translate across technical and business domains
Team-oriented and independently motivated to deliver results
Patience and resilience in working with the sometimes ambiguous requirements that characterize innovation projects
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in git or similar version control tools
Experience working in big data environments (Hadoop, S3, HBase,Snowflake)
Experience building a data quality/ data monitoring toolset
Experience with Python and SQL
Experience with Stakeholder engagement
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Mathematics or related technical discipline or its equivalent.

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $138,900 to $186,200 per year, in Seattle, WA and New York, NY is $145,400 to $195,000 per year, and in San Francisco, CA is $152,100 to $203,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
