About the Role & Team
The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for sales and film operations of our theatrical releases to the exhibition partners in Norway, in close cooperation with the Director for Studio Distribution, Nordic and Baltic. From working with large global chains to collaborating with independent cinemas – you’ll enjoy adapting your approach and support in optimizing and maintaining existing deals.
You'd also be the daily point of contact for our pan-regional partners, with your team lead managing strategic direction.
The role will work closely with our marketing teams to facilitate the promotion of our movies to the theatres and the consumers. You'll also collaborate with other cross-company divisions to assist and inform them with your expertise.
This position reports to the Director for Studio Distribution, Nordic and Baltic
This role will require you to be onsite in our Oslo office 4 days a week.
What You Will Do
Responsible for the in-market delivery and follow-up of the release-, distribution- and/or cross division strategies set out in cooperation/consultation with team lead
Fostering close collaboration with exhibitors to optimize and maintain existing deals
Negotiate rental terms; sell and book our theatrical releases to both large international and independent local exhibitors (cinemas) in Norway
Film operations: follow-up the ordering and delivery of our movies, trailers & other content to the cinemas
Track, monitor and analyze the daily and weekly box office results to find deviations in the movie’s performance and act accordingly
Contributing to building and following-up on the trade marketing plans. Maintain a strong collaboration with the marketing teams (internal) and theatre managers (external).
Coordinate Distribution/Sales related trade events like exhibitor screenings and deliver periodic presentations to showcase our movie slate
Collaborate with peers within Marketing/Retail/Consumer products teams to create and roll-out innovative ideas in order to preserve Disney’s position as a key player in the Nordic media and entertainment market.
Collaborate with the Disney+ team to align the release plans and campaigns across multiple lines of business for our feature film releases.
Mentor and manage the Sales Coordinator to make them thrive and meet personal and business goals. Provide leadership, set objectives and regular appraisal to stimulate growth and development.
Delivering excellent customer service and maintain the good relationship with all exhibitors, as well as contributing to the internal team work
Required Qualifications & Skills
Strong knowledge of the Norwegian theatrical business to be able to present new insights, innovative ideas and find growth opportunities.
You'll bring a passion for movies and cinema and are seen as a thought leader within the Norwegian theatrical environment.
Extensive experience working in a sales and key account management role with a team management remit
Degree or equivalent experience in Business Economics, Communication and/or Sales
Leadership Experience - you bring experience and passion for managing and nurturing direct reports
Experience with people management, communication, and cross-company departments
Strong strategic sales capabilities, implementation skills and confident at presenting to large groups
Highly self-sufficient whilst being able to operate within a complex matrix organization
Analytical attitude, ability to apply data and insights to get results, e.g. through using Excel
Analyzes problems effectively and takes action to resolve within a changing environment
Proficient in English and Norwegian, both verbal and written
Travel required for client meetings, business events and conferences, some may be required.
