The Revenue & Yield Management teams develop and guide the revenue strategy for multiple brands across the Disney Portfolio. The linear pricing team focuses on collaboration with Sales, primarily with a focus on driving business, agency, or category strategy and overall stewardship, while in tandem ensuring our bottom line as a company is protected.
Job Summary:
The Manager, Linear Pricing & Planning will directly manage Sales Planners and their deliverables. This individual will be responsible for ongoing training and development that is essential for our business based on the seasonal selling approach and evolving rights within the sports and entertainment landscape. The Manager will provide guidance to the Sales Planners they manage on pricing and mix needs, as well as supporting rationale. This role will help support and defend our sales strategy to help educate our sales teams on our business needs and the marketplace. In addition, this role will also work closely with Sports and Entertainment Brand Solutions to guide on valuation and sponsorship assessment for the clients assigned to this manager. Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
Recruit, Onboard, manage, and train team of Sales Planners including on-going training and development that is crucial to evolving sports landscape. Manage Planner assignments to make sure a specific agency or sales team is properly supported based on business needs such as account transfers or customer service needs.
Deploy strategy and tactics to our Sales Planners including but not limited to pricing strategy across all marketplaces, ADU strategy, offers and approvals, proposal revisions, cross network write down implementation and running point on overall UF operations to ensure accuracy and speed to market. Lean in and embrace system reporting to provide regular updates to sales and Sales Planners to help impact yield.
Collaborate with sales as our “customer” on business needs including but not limited to sponsorship valuations, added value and reviewing or approving basic terms such as guarantees and positioning.
Actively contribute and partner with technology on system enhancements and/or updates and advocate for needs across our business unit while being mindful of big picture within DAS.
Partner closely with Management in Inventory & Analytics, Scheduling and Ad Operations to ensure accuracy across teams both in terms of execution and overall deal stewardship including but not limited to liability management, inventory guidance and resolution and communication of deal points/terms.
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
5+ years business experience with a focus on Pricing & Planning in a national sales organization, with experience directly managing or mentoring a team of individual contributors in a national Sales organization strongly preferred
Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize multiple projects
Expert in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills. Collaborative and team player
Ability to work in a fast-changing work environment
Bachelor’s degree preferred

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $121,000 to $162,200 per year and in Chicago, IL is $115,500 to $154,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
