A permanent opportunity to join our team in Milan as a Senior Accountant. This role will be based 4 days a week in the office, with one from home.
Responsibilities:
The specific general ledger accounting tasks to be performed by this position will vary and may include:
Statutory Financial Statement
- Support Statutory manager for Statutory financial statement preparation, including, ie., reviewing Mumbai SSC activities in revenues/costs accruals calculation, fixed asset accounting under Local and Tax Gaap, analysis on deviation vs US gaap for reporting purposes,
- Support in the preparation of the Explanatory note and Management’s reports
- Support to Statutory manager for PwC (auditors) visit on quarterly basis, collecting information and providing documentation,
- Support to Statutory manager for PwC (auditors) visit on annual basis, collecting information and providing documentation, as per interim and final audit.
General Accounting
- Working with the Accounting Manager in overall preparation of quarterly accounts, including co-ordination of all schedules, reconciliation and reporting packages for review by the Accounting Manager. Some level of presenting to regional teams may be required so strong communication skills are essential.
- Supporting Mumbai SSC in the preparation of VAT / WTH tax recurring requirements (such as Annual return, Annual Certification, Quarterly declaration, Monthly liquidation). Liaise with KPMG as external consultant in charge of VAT matter
- Managing tax/local payments into remote banking systems (ie. VAT/WHT; Municipality taxes, ..).
- Checking posting performed by SSC/CoE applying local rules.
- Review balance sheet reconciliation prepared by Mumbai SSC, checking the correctness and accuracy of data for the subsequent approval.
- On exceptional basis, preparation of Manual invoices template to be raised to customer.
- Work in strict collaboration with regional-corporate teams facilitating sharing of best practices and information.
- Applying, with proactive approach, the compliance with Group policies, US GAAP, local requirements.
- Work in strict collaboration with finance teams supporting both accounting and finance requirements, facilitating sharing of information and backgrounds. Supporting their need in order to present AOP and forecasts.
Taxes/Other local requirements
- Support to Statutory manager for specific Tax/Compliance declarations, including regulatory requirements on quarterly/annual basis (ie. Istat, Banca d’Italia, ect).
- Statutory and compliance postings, statutory and tax fiscal books updating under Local and Tax Gaap (Journal book, Fixed assets registers, Inventory books, VAT registers, Wth tax certifications, ect.).
- Monitoring and reconciliation of E-Invoicing process with Italian tax authority platform (so called “Cassetto Fiscale”).
Required Skills & Experience
- Good English (written and spoken)
- Accounting/tax knowledge
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure in an environment where priorities must be continually re-evaluated and adapted as possible.
- Able to communicate effectively
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of Company systems and independently extract reports and perform analyses (SAP and related front of house systems)
