The role manages the international marketing and sales functions, notably in EMEA as well as APAC. Working in conjunction with internal and external partners to generate awareness and sales for National Geographic Expeditions in-house owned and operated products as well as brand licensed products provided by 3rd party operators.
The main focus and priority is National Geographic Expedition Cruises operated by Ponant promoting a wide variety of worldwide destinations to a number of key markets including the UK, Australia, Germany, France, and China.
This role requires someone who is comfortable managing the sales and marketing function for National Geographic Expeditions in markets outside the US but is equally happy to perform all day-to-day duties needed (such as content writing, creation of emails, social posting, etc.) as this role has no direct reports.

Responsabilités:

Sales:
  • Develop and manage international General Sales Agent infrastructure for the booking of Ponant cruises sourced from National Geographic marketing and websites.
  • Work with International Cruise Partnership Manager to educate and train Ponant Call Centres in Germany, France, and Australia regarding National Geographic Expeditions’ USPs and maximising customer data opt-ins in accordance with GDPR.
  • Support Ponant in developing sales distribution networks and awareness with the UK market.
  • Implement and manage processes for booking of existing in-house Owned & Operated travel business within legal and regulatory framework across English speaking markets, notably the UK, Australia, and the Netherlands, but also including Nordics and South Africa.
  • Support and manage the existing international sales infrastructure, through General Sales Agents in the UK, Netherlands (EU), Australia.
  • Identify sales opportunities for in-house O&O products (notably Private Jet) through existing Brand Licenced partners.
Marketing
  • Ensure all marketing materials adhere to NGE Brand Guidelines and any new proposed executions are approved by Head Office.
  • Work with Brand Licensees to ensure marketing execution fits with local culture, laws, and regulations as well as translating as appropriate.
  • Develop appropriate marketing strategy and country specific plans, allocating spend and resources as appropriate.
  • Work with National Geographic Country Managers and Functional leads to make optimal use of internal NG media inventory: TV, Digital and Print – notably National Geographic Magazine (International Local Language editions).
  • Work with Disney UK/EMEA and International sales & marketing teams to generate support for Ponant Expedition Cruises including access to customer databases and media inventory.
  • Develop and implement 3rd party media plans (online and offline) across Europe promoting Expedition Cruising with Ponant, including the creation of assets. Prioritize database growth with GDPR compliant consumer opt-ins.
  • Monthly reporting on marketing activity and media value, online and offline. Manage International Marketing Budget including purchase order system, oversight of invoices/payments, and quarterly re-forecasting.
Digital
  • Create and coordinate delivery of digital marketing (emails, blogs, PPC, social) including translation into multiple languages.
  • Support maintenance of international travel websites, working with tech teams where needed.
  • Drive unique users and subscribers.
  • Website content and UX strategy, including content creation and translation.

Qualifications Nécessaires:

  • 5+ years experience in consumer-facing travel and tourism sector (ideally cruises) with exposure to the UK market and ideally other European markets as well as Australia.
  • Strong understanding of marketing high-end travel products through traditional and digital channels as well as database marketing.
  • Extensive experience in the creation of marketing assets such as video editing, content writing, social content (using Facebook Business Manager), etc. as well as website maintenance (WordPress experience preferred).
  • Extensive experience in copy writing with native/as native English language skills, multi-lingual a bonus preferably French or German.
  • Experience managing external travel partnerships, ideally white-label or brand licensed solutions.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, securing support as required without formal direct reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, forging strong local and international relationships.
  • Management of Marketing/Media Agencies.
  • Exposure to high-end travel (Luxury Group Tours, Private Jets, and/or Cruises).
  • Experience of working in a large corporate environment with matrix organisational structure.
  • Ideally an understanding of web development.
  • Proven successful commercial negotiator.
  • Given international time zones, ability to show flexibility with working hours as required with some overseas travel.
