The Civil Engineering team's responsibilities include design, analysis, and calculations and specifications for hydrology/hydraulics, sanitary and storm sewage, storm water management, water treatment, potable water and other utilities for the site/area development of an individual facility/attraction, land, or theme park project.
You will report to Engineering Manager.
This is a Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.
What You Will Do:
May lead a large team of civil engineers and designers on large, complex projects at the land-level through all phases of design
Collaborate and negotiate with internal and external regulatory stakeholders, partners, and authorities
Responsible for developing innovative solutions in civil engineering design, analysis, and calculations for large or highly complex site/area development projects at the land-level, or such projects that require advanced technical specialty (i.e. hydrology/hydraulics) within the Civil Engineering function with no supervision
Responsible for shaping civil engineering strategy during early project development, informing feasibility, site selection, infrastructure approach, order-of-magnitude cost, and risk posture to enable informed executive decision-making
Responsible for serving as a trusted technical advisor to executive, project, and portfolio leadership
Proven ability to represent the Civil Engineering discipline as part of the creative and delivery team to solve problems
Perform peer reviews of work product of other department staff
Serve as a technical expert, role model and mentor to junior staff
Develop scopes of work, engineering soft cost design estimates and resource plans
Provide technical direction to in-house engineers and designers, and to outside consultants in the production of construction contract documents
Will be expected to work independently without supervision
Required Qualifications & Skills:
12 years or more experience in civil engineering
Professional registration in Civil Engineering required
Experience designing detention/retention ponds
Experience designing complex utility systems for large infrastructure projects with broad knowledge of the civil engineering discipline
Working knowledge of grading
Working knowledge of hydrology/hydraulics
Detailed familiarity with civil design
Proficient in use of Civil 3D
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud
Experience leading a design team
Some knowledge in design of water treatment facilities for water features and its corresponding recirculation systems.
Working knowledge of SFWMD, CFTOD Land Development Regulations and Epcot Building Code
Working knowledge of drainage software and understanding of model input/output
Working knowledge of construction sequencing to anticipate permit requirements and changes as well as issues causing design changes
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering required
An advanced degree in the Civil Engineering field is desirable
