As a Facility Asset Management (FAM) - Construction Field Fire Systems Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in bringing safety and innovation to the forefront of every construction project. You will be the expert overseeing the site implementation of fire alarm systems, ensuring that each installation meets the highest standards of quality and reliability. Acting as the key liaison between the engineering team and on-site operations, you'll directly impact the success of our fire alarm solutions. Collaborate with talented engineers, fire alarm specialists, project managers, contractors, and governmental agencies to deliver effective project management strategies that safeguard our facilities. By managing worksite fire alarm activities, you'll be instrumental in guaranteeing that our client's functional requirements and standards are exceeded. You'll also ensure strict adherence to construction procedures and maintain compliance with Environmental, Department of Health, OSHA, and code regulations. What You Will Do
Provide field engineering support for fire alarm installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance
Act as a field liaison to fire alarm specialists to investigate, troubleshoot, and remedy fire/life safety issues
Proactively interface and consult with lines of business, engineering services teams, and project managers to provide fire alarm engineering support
Support testing and commissioning fire protection equipment or building features
Provide field support for onsite inspections of buildings or building designs to determine fire protection system requirements and potential challenges
Ensure proper implementation of fire prevention equipment and techniques and on fire code and standard interpretation and compliance from the advice of architects, inspectors, and engineers
Work with the project team and Walt Disney World Safety in the implementation of the project safety plan
Participate in project development and provide constructability analysis and value engineering recommendations
Ensure contractor/manufacturer compliance with contract drawings, schedule and specifications, applicable codes, and Disney standards
Help develop site logistics
Conduct regular site walks & inspections
Monitor project schedule and identify recovery options to avoid schedule delays
Prepare daily reports on contractor work activities. Track onsite personnel, equipment used, and progress
Lead/participate in applicable meetings: Pre-construction, weekly team, safety, operations, Contractor, CFTOD, etc. Lead the on-site meetings
Required Qualifications & Skills
NICET Level III or IV (3 or 4) certified fire alarm technician
Experience with fire alarm testing and regulatory application of fire alarm methods
Strong knowledge of Building and Fire Codes and NFPA Codes and Standards
Knowledgeable in OSHA compliance
State or local specialized fire alarm licenses (e.g., ESA, state-specific fire licenses)
Knowledge of construction activities and their relationships, the project management process, and construction contracting
Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and general requirements. Identify issues and express their impact to the construction process
Previous experience with installation or service in testing and inspecting Fire Alarm Systems and Equipment.
Experience working on complex construction site(s)
Experience working with contractors, sub-contractors, and consultants to achieve completion of projects that meet client expectations
Work overnight or third-shift schedules as needed
Education
Education High School Degree or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree and 2 Years of experience in Fire Protection Engineering- Preferred

The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $91,000 to $121,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
