Overall Purpose of the Role

Our Disney+ Partnerships team is responsible for new business development and successful management of external partnerships in alignment with Disney Direct to Consumer business objectives of subscriber growth and retention, revenue maximization and brand health.

The role will be part of the Partnerships and Business Development team overseeing select account relationships and day-to-day management and execution of Disney+ partnerships. This includes building new relationships, leading negotiations with partners, creating and communicating business cases, aligning cross functionally, and ensuring strong delivery and optimization of partnerships.

This role is responsible for identifying key business channels/streams for Partnerships to deliver on key business goals for revenue growth. In addition, this role will maintain positive relationships between our partners and work collaboratively cross business to deliver best in class Disney+ partner programs and promote effective ways of working.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Business Development meetings, in preparing for the meetings

  • Lead negotiating commercial terms with existing local partners and secure new deals

  • Lead and input on market level strategy, prioritization, and approach we take in the market

  • Closey track, and deliver on key business goals including revenue growth, subscriber growth, retention benefits, and viewing engagement

  • Develop global internal relationships to ensure we bring best practice to deals and partnerships in the market

  • Be the liaison between partners and internal teams to effectively build partnership relationships, deliver on marketing objectives, develop plans and campaign executions

  • Be the day-to-day lead for select partner accounts including campaign execution, contract fulfilment, ongoing maintenance, reporting and communications

  • Building and nurturing the external and internal relationships that underpin strategic, collaborative, long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships that enhance consumer value and brand perceptions

  • Collaborating with colleagues across business functions and verticals to align plans and activities with broader Company strategy, financial plans, local laws and Company policies, and standards of innovation and creative excellence

  • Work closely with partners to ensure strong performance from partner sales channels, including holding regular business review meetings with partners

  • Briefing internal stakeholders, including creative, finance, legal, comms and overseeing the delivery with internal stakeholders

  • Lead the critical timelines across all major work streams by tracking and documenting partnership activities to ensure both timely delivery and future recommendations

  • Optimisation of partnership performance, running QBR meetings, and gathering required inputs

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal stakeholders including Brand, Legal, Product, Creative teams

  • Apply any relevant learnings from the international teams for partner execution

  • Ensure delivery teams are launch ready for all new partnerships

  • Clear, accurate, timely reporting

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required

  • 10+ years of experience in business development and/or sales

  • Proven experience in initiating, negotiating and closing partnership deals

  • Demonstrated skills in inputting on and setting the strategic approach for partnership deals

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Proven stakeholder management experience and Partnership or Account Management expertise

  • Polished language and communication skills, including clear and persuasive verbal communication, strong presentation and pitching skills, and professional writing skills

  • Engaging interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to forge positive relationships within multiple levels of an organization, and in the wider operating environment

  • Digital products and marketing expertise including best-practice channel strategy and customer journeys

  • The successful candidate will ideally have experience in account management experience in activating marketing campaigns to meet the key requirements of this role.

  • Natural team player, with ability to collaborate, multi-task, and work to tight deadlines

  • Adaptability, resilience, and emotional intelligence   

  • Ability to manage internal stakeholders and external partners – e.g. agency, creative, media

  • Strong project management experience and delivery of end-to-end projects

  • Understanding of / experience in the SVOD & Streaming landscape is desired

  • Passion for The Walt Disney Company Brands/Franchises

Areas of Accountability

Reports to – VP, DTC Partnerships & BD, part of APAC DTC Partnerships Team

Works closely with:

  • Country level Market GM

  • Country level DTC leadership team

  • Country level The Walt Disney Company teams including cross line of business teams (Theatrical, Parks, Consumer Products etc)

  • Global DTC Partnerships team

Skills Required

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field – Marketing, Business
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Digital products and marketing expertise
  • Analytical thinking and data driver decision making
  • A proven track record of forging relationships with multiple levels of an organization
  • Must be a strong communicator and presenter, effectively communicating Disney+ brand and partnership guidelines as well as critical time paths and legal needs
  • Shows initiative and proactively drives results
  • Ability to work cross-company across various Business Areas, multi-task and handle tight deadlines under pressure
  • Able to curate and manage effective relationships with external partners
  • A strong team player who contributes to an environment that embraces constant change and innovation
  • Language: Indonesian (fluent), English (business level)
