Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney’s media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams.
Job Summary:
The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for the proper placement of all commercial content and finalization of the On-Air logs.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
- Prepare and finalize the 24-hour log.
- Verify program and break lengths are accurate.
- Responsible for navigating advertiser commercial placement.
- Ensures billboard and sponsorship spots are matched with advertisers.
- Communicates log issues with Sales and management.
- Works closely with Programming and Media Planning teams.
- Processes and file log change requests and issues.
- Execute Hot-Starts and special program start and end times.
- Works closely with Sales to ensure advertiser accommodations are met.
- Assist Traffic management with various departmental projects.
- Works closely with BS&P to ensure certain spots are approved to air.
- Verify 24-hour log is FCC compliant before releasing to BS&P
- Translate the downloaded log.
- Handle various duties for Traffic Manager when Manager is out or unavailable.
- Works with Agencies and Sales departments on managing and maintaining accuracy of all traffic commercial copy data.
- Oversee the application of commercial copy by adhering to agency instructions and any specification schedules provided by Sales Administration.
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
Basic Qualifications
- Computer proficient, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- Organized, detail oriented and self-motivated. Must have strong interpersonal skills and capable of working effectively within a team environment and across multiple business platforms.
- Must be capable of learning new system procedures/functions as they pertain to the needs of our business and children’s television.
- Must be capable of explaining oneself both verbally and in writing. Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively under pressure.
- Must have a positive attitude and be willing to adapt in an industry environment where change is inevitable.
- Has working knowledge of WideOrbit Traffic System, or any other Traffic Broadcast System
Required Education
- Preferred, not required: AA Degree (Preferable Television/Radio Broadcasting or other related fields)
The hiring range for this position in California is $44,000 to $69,600 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
