Senior Technical Business Analyst
Location: Glendale, CA (Hybrid)

Reports To: Manager, Product Development
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Technical Business Analyst / Product Owner to lead the design, delivery, and maintenance of internal facing applications in support of The Walt Disney Studios. They will bring that experience to bear, as well as build a deep understanding of current and future technologies associated with the Studio businesses they support; they will be seen as an expert by Studio Technology and business partners alike. This individual will serve as the bridge between our development teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that technical solutions align with strategic goals and user needs.
Key Responsibilities
- (5) In close partnership with the Manager and business stakeholders, develop the product vision and product roadmap for internal full stack applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility.
- (20) Collaborate closely with software engineers, UX designers, and QA to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within scope.
- (25) Engage with business clients or other product teams within the organization to gather requirements, define use cases, and translate needs into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- (20) Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and prioritization activities. Define, groom, and accept user stories based on stakeholder requests.
- (10) Document and maintain data flow diagrams, UML diagrams, and other technical artifacts to support development and stakeholder understanding.
- (5) Analyze and interpret data using moderate SQL skills to support decision-making and ad hoc queries.
- (10) Partner with infrastructure and data engineering teams to support integration with platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and more traditional SQL databases.
- (2) Monitor product KPIs and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- (3) Communicate all successes, opportunities, and risks in formal communications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's plus 5+ years of experience in business analysis or product ownership within software development environments.
- 5+ yrs of experience using Agile SCRUM methodology. Proven track record managing full-stack application delivery in an Agile setting.
- Exceptional Analytical thinking and Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, SQL databases, etc.) with proficiency in SQL for querying and data validation.
- Familiarity with UML and data flow diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio).
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise environments with cross-functional teams.
- Experience using BI tools (Microstrategy, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
- Familiarity with AI tools and concepts, prompt engineering.
- Certified Agile Product Owner a plus.
- Knowledge of film production lifecycle preferred. Experience within Studios preferred.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, California is $97,500.00 - $130,700.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
