The Group Creative Strategy Planner is a full-time Sr. Manager that is always asking questions, looking for new insights, and endlessly curious. Fascinated by human behavior, social trends, culture and how ideas (big and small) influence people. They will translate client inputs and research findings into clear and actionable creative briefs for the creative teams and business partners. This role is responsible for developing the overall creative communication strategy, clarifying and defining the campaign's objectives, unearthing key human insights, consumer trends and competitive research that helps position TWDC businesses for commercial success. The right person for this role is fascinated by the cultural zeitgeist, using data to tell a cohesive story, and energized by communicating their findings through their creative briefs and other collaborative spaces.
This role will report to the Director of Planning.
You Will:
• Distill and summarize partner strategic input into a creative brief and conveying to the creative team.
• Lead and championing the creative development process, including briefing and enthusing creative teams and providing feedback in response to consumer research findings
• Unearthing pivotal insights in what makes people tick (e.g. the latest thinking around vacation trends, dynamics of family, generational behavioral differences, the use of AI, rational and emotional drivers, unique experiences, cultural trends, path to purchase, etc.)
• Led by the consumer, partner cross-functionally to identify opportunities to push the boundaries of what is possible for marketing and business transformation programs
• Champion consumer-centricity, creativity, innovation and learning and be an advocate for the team
• Provide thought leadership and guidance on emerging trends, shifts in digital behavior, and best practices in social media and consumer insights.
• Stay on top of streaming, television, social media news, trends, and tools.
• Bring a balanced and calm attitude when giving and receiving feedback that supports the development of the agency’s creative work and improves the effectiveness of the advertising ideas.
• Develop relationships with key business partners in Marketing Strategy, Customer Engagement, CIMA, DX Franchise, Digital and WDI to ensure Yellow Shoes is delivering creative solutions that address their business priorities and challenges.
• Be proficient at balancing and prioritizing multiple sophisticated projects simultaneously, and be adept at pivoting in times of need or change
• Manage and mentor a team of planners, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative environment.
You Have:
• 5-7+ years of advertising or marketing agency planning, account/business management, insights and analytics, consumer research, marketing, or related experience
• Expertise in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) applications Workfront experience a plus
• Enthusiastic, curious, and proactive attitude
• Strong presentation skills, excellent written and spoken communication skills • Thinks in terms of “we” and not “me” – Team focused, solutions driven
• Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail • Ability to turn data into meaningful takeaways, identify the “so what” around consumer and business impact, and present those learnings
• Strong familiarity and understanding of social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linked In, YouTube, TikTok and the consumer behaviors attached to them • Proficiency in establishing and maintaining relationships with partners and peers to problem solve and inspire others.

• Strong creative problem-solving and storytelling skills
• Experience with primary research methodologies and analysis
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in California is $151,000.00-$202,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
