About the Role & Team
Disney’s Direct to Consumer (DTC) team oversees the Hulu and Disney+ streaming businesses within Disney Entertainment, helping to bring The Walt Disney Company’s best-in-class storytelling to fans and families everywhere.
The Disney+ Global Subscriber Engagement and Content Programming team is responsible for leading content planning, scheduling, on-service merchandising, slate management, and programming insights that contribute to a cohesive strategic content approach for the service.
What You’ll Do
Disney’s Global Content Programming team is looking for a Content Programming Associate Manager to assist with global governance and establish frameworks for publishing capabilities that align with our merchandising strategies and workflows. This role will ultimately enhance audience engagement and discovery on platforms like Disney+ and Hulu.
As part of the team, you will work with Content Programmers to design and execute impactful on-platform campaigns and promotions. The ideal candidate will have experience in content curation and content management systems, a passion for growth, and a strong understanding of television, film, and popular culture.
Responsibilities
Support the Editorial and Merchandising teams for Disney+ and Hulu to meet the needs of viewers and drive business success.
Utilize service, market, and behavioral data, along with audience research, to develop effective capability strategies.
Maintain a prioritized project calendar, documenting details and articulating original thoughts and ideas clearly.
Collaborate with the product team to test new CMS features aimed at enhancing the guest experience, including supporting the QA process.
Work with the Programming Experimentation team to address testing needs and implement testing as required.
Execute and implement tactics under the guidance of senior team members.
Analyze and optimize campaigns, capabilities, and features for improved performance.
Collaborate with team members on ad-hoc programming initiatives.
Coordinate with operational teams to ensure content and asset availability aligns with merchandising strategies.
Partner with the Programming Data & Insights teams to act upon key findings.
Create, update, and monitor Airtable tickets efficiently.
Willingness to learn the editorial strategies of Disney+ and Hulu and can actively engage in content curation as needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in digital media, content programming, content curation, product management, or audience development, preferably within SVOD.
Proficient in digital media publishing, with hands-on experience in consumer-facing CMS across web, app, streaming, and connected devices.
An understanding of growing diverse audiences across various platforms.
Skilled in data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Conviva.
Experience with tools like Excel, the Google Suite, Airtable, JIRA, and Confluence.
Excellent communication skills, with confidence in presenting to large audiences.
Meticulous attention to detail and strong follow-through abilities.
Quick learner with critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Eager to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, adapting priorities seamlessly, and maintaining composure under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in SVOD or streaming media is preferred.
Experience working with product and technology teams to enhance consumer facing CMS products is a plus.
Strong experience with Airtable is a plus.
Deep passion for TV and films.
Previous experience working in Live programming.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field or equivalent years of experience.
Additional Information
This role is based out of the Glendale office 4 days a week.
Must be available to cover evening and weekend programming events as needed to ensure smooth operations.
The hiring range for this position in CA is $71,000.00 to $95,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
