Are you passionate about storytelling, media, and pop culture? Want to help shape how millions of people around the world see The Most Magical Place on Earth? As a Public Relations Intern at the Walt Disney World® Resort, you’ll be at the heart of the action, working with journalists, influencers, content creators, and fan communities to share exciting stories and magical moments. From pitching the latest park experiences to creating buzz with media and fan sites, this role is your backstage pass to the real-world magic of PR.
The intern will report to the Senior Manager, Public Relations.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in Orlando, Florida, from January 2026 through June 2026.
What You Will Do
As a member of our innovative and fast-paced PR team, you’ll support the development and execution of publicity strategies that spotlight everything Walt Disney World has to offer. Whether it’s launching a new attraction, supporting a media event, or developing creative assets, you’ll play a key role in sparking conversations and building meaningful connections with our audiences.
You’ll collaborate closely with PR managers and cross-functional teams to:
- Assist with media outreach and relationship building with journalists, influencers, and fan sites.
- Support storytelling efforts through press materials, media lists, and asset coordination.
- Help plan and execute unforgettable press and influencer events.
- Contribute to strategic communication plans that align with business goals and celebrate the Disney experience.
- Monitor trends and conversations to help guide real-time engagement and story development.

Responsibilities Include
- Support Public Relations and media engagement efforts for national, international, and local outlets, influencers, and Disney fan sites, showcasing what’s new, now, and next for Walt Disney World.
- Manage logistics and fulfillment of inquiries for media requests and onsite coverage visits, including distribution lists, press site access, and hotel and ticket requests.
- Track and report on earned media coverage and Public Relations successes.
- Help manage a news-media website – uploading assets; proofing, reviewing, and updating content; and pulling reports.
- Develop presentations and related materials for executive updates and other meetings.
- Be a part of promoting new Walt Disney World attractions, offerings, and resort experiences, assisting with the development and creation of photo-video content, blog/social posts, press releases, pitching stories, and hosting special events.
- Liaise with other company departments and teams, including Marketing Strategy, Public Affairs, Park and Resort Operations, and other key partners across The Walt Disney Company.

- Support additional special projects as needed.
Please Apply If You Are/Have
- Previous internship or other experience working in a PR-Communications environment.
- Reporting/writing/editing experience with a student or professional news outlet (broadcast or print-digital) or PR agency.
- Ability to write in various styles and formats for diverse audiences and platforms (print, web, social media, and video).
- Well-versed in grammar and punctuation, and have a strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with the creative process for photography, video, and social content.
- Experience in creating basic visual communication, including graphics, photos, and videos, and an interest in developing your creative skills.
- Project management and administrative skills, and a self-starter.
- Creative ideas that support PR strategy and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
- Confidence and ability to engage with media – providing assets, pitching stories, and hosting events.
- Experience tracking media coverage and creating summary reports.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative team player who can work well independently or in a group.
- Able to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
It Would Also Be Great If You Have
- Previous Walt Disney World® Resort work experience.
- Experience developing and implementing a PR plan.
- Ability to build compelling presentations that sell concepts and ideas.
- Graphic design expertise and capable of working with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools.
- Proficient writing in AP Style.
- Solid proficiency in speaking and writing in Spanish.
Education
- Junior or Senior preferred.
- Pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Advertising, or other related fields.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information
- The approximate dates of this internship are January 2026 through June 2026.
- Fully available from Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM Eastern Time Zone for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, Florida area.
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
- Be aligned with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.
