Sr Site Reliability Engineer

We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney! 

 

This role sits in the Disney Signature Experiences organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with Disney Cruise Line and other teams from across the company.   

 

The Sr Site Reliability Engineer will report to the Manager of Site Reliability Engineering, Disney Signature Experiences. 

 

About The Role & Team: 

The Sr. Site Reliability Engineer is a critical member of the Disney Signature Experiences SRE Team whose primary role is to support Identity & Access Management for Disney Cruise Line applications and architecture.  They will be collaborating with a small team to develop processes and automation to manage and support role-based access control, identity management, and authentication requirements in a secure environment, developing IAM policies, operational procedures, and governance standards to meet security and compliance requirements. The team also supports monitoring solutions that help to provide observability and reporting.  This role will serve as a software developer with goals to increase efficiency, decrease friction, and advance our monitoring and automation offerings. 

 

What You'll Do: 

• Drive a DevOps culture by building automation and tooling that improve reliability, reduce friction for developers, and enhance observability across identity and access services.  

• Design, build, and support secure IAM solutions, including role-based access control, authentication flows, and governance standards for enterprise environments.  

• Evaluate and implement Privileged Access Management, secrets management, and access governance tools to safeguard sensitive systems and data.  

• Automate user provisioning, deprovisioning, license assignment, and account lifecycle management using CI/CD pipelines and configuration management platforms.  

• Perform systems administration across Active Directory, Windows, Linux, and other platforms, ensuring stability, performance, capacity management, and strong security controls.  

• Collaborate with Security Operations and partner teams to design secure solutions, maintain vulnerability management practices, and uphold Disney security standards.  

• Develop and refine monitoring, telemetry, alerts, and documentation to improve incident detection, root-cause analysis, and mean time to repair for large-scale distributed systems.  

• Lead and contribute to technical projects with manageable risk, acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience and explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences.  

 

Required Qualifications: 

• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in site reliability, devops, systems engineering, or closely related disciplines. 
• Skilled in Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for building and operating reliable, scalable enterprise systems.  

• Proficient in agile environments with strong collaboration skills for cross-functional delivery.  

• Applied understanding of observability principles, including monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting, using modern tools and practices.  

• Hands-on experience with CI tools such as GitLab, AWS CodeBuild, Azure DevOps, and related pipelines.  

• Proficient in configuration management and orchestration tools (Ansible, AWX, MECM, Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef).  

• Experience with procedural and general-purpose programming languages (PowerShell, Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, Go, Rust, C/C++) for automation and tooling.  

• Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, networks, and code, with the ability to identify root causes in large-scale distributed systems.  

• Proficiency in Active Directory administration, troubleshooting, and security, including enterprise Identity & Access Management practices.  

• Collaborative experience working with Security Operations teams to design and maintain secure solutions.  

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and ensure smooth delivery while working independently with minimal guidance.  

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Strong PowerShell skills and extensive experience managing Active Directory and user management at scale.  

• Extensive experience in automation and desired state configuration for multi-platform environments.  

• Solid understanding of authentication and access control across platforms, including Okta Cloud, Okta Access Gateway, Keycloak, SSO, MFA, OIDC, and SAML solutions.  

• Industry-standard certifications in Identity & Access Management, Active Directory, or related technologies, and maritime training or certifications.  

 

Required Education: 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience 

 

Preferred Education: 

• Industry standard certifications in Identity & Access Management, Active Directory, or other related technologies preferred 

• Maritime training or certifications preferred

The hiring range for this position in [location] is $135,200 to $181,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
