Résumé du poste:

Role Overview:

The Senior International Trade Finance Analyst plays a lead individual‑contributor role within Trade Finance, responsible for advanced execution, analysis, and problem‑solving across global trade finance activities. In addition to day‑to‑day trade finance execution, this role serves as a subject‑matter expert and escalation point for complex broker invoicing, duty validation, and trade‑related financial controls.

Reporting to the Manager, Trade Finance, the Senior Analyst operates within the first line of defense, with increased autonomy and responsibility for issue resolution, mentoring, process improvement, and cross‑functional coordination. This role directly supports financial integrity, audit readiness, and cost visibility for global trade activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Trade Finance Execution

  • Lead execution of complex trade finance activities related to customs broker invoices, duty payments, and trade‑related fees.
  • Perform detailed validation of high‑risk, high‑value, or exception‑based invoices and entries.
  • Serve as an escalation point for invoice discrepancies, rate interpretation issues, and duty/fee anomalies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial settlement aligned with regulatory and internal control requirements.

Broker Invoice Audit & Financial Controls

  • Lead pre‑ and post‑payment audits of customs broker invoices and trade‑related charges.
  • Independently identify trends, root causes, and systemic issues impacting invoice accuracy or financial controls.
  • Partner with the Manager, Trade Finance to drive corrective actions and recovery efforts.
  • Maintain audit‑ready documentation and evidence supporting trade finance activities.

Data Analysis, Insights & Reporting

  • Perform advanced analysis of trade finance data to identify:
    • Cost drivers and savings opportunities
    • Broker performance trends
    • Recurring discrepancies or inefficiencies
  • Develop and refine reports and dashboards that provide leadership‑level visibility into duty spend, broker accuracy, and operational performance.
  • Translate data insights into actionable recommendations for leadership.

Process Improvement & Automation Leadership

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within Trade Finance to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Partner with Trade Technology and Finance teams to design, test, and implement automation and system enhancements.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and stabilization of new tools impacting trade finance workflows.
  • Own and maintain advanced SOPs, controls documentation, and training materials.

Cross‑Functional Leadership & Mentorship

  • Serve as a key liaison between Trade Finance, Trade Operations, Global Customs Programs, Technology, and Corporate Finance.
  • Provide guidance and informal mentoring to Trade Finance Analysts.
  • Support onboarding and knowledge transfer for new team members.
  • Represent Trade Finance in cross‑functional working sessions and reviews.

Professional & Leadership Expectations:

  • Financial & Regulatory Expertise: Demonstrates advanced understanding of trade‑related financial controls and data.
  • Independent Judgment: Resolves complex issues with minimal supervision.
  • Analytical Leadership: Uses data proactively to drive improvement, not just reporting.
  • Execution Excellence: Delivers accurate, timely, and auditable results.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Builds trust across Finance, Operations, Compliance, and Technology.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Actively identifies and leads enhancements to processes and controls.

Position Within the Trade Management Operating Model:

  • First Line of Defense: Owns execution quality and embedded financial controls.
  • Senior Individual Contributor Role: Provides subject‑matter leadership without people‑management accountability.
  • Distinct from Assurance: Supports audits but does not independently assess control effectiveness.
  • Risk & Cost Steward: Reduces financial exposure and improves visibility through disciplined execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Significant experience in trade finance, accounting, broker invoice audit, or operational finance.
  • Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools; ability to analyze large data sets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading broker invoice audits or trade‑related financial reviews.
  • Familiarity with customs entry data and trade management systems.
  • Experience in a multinational or regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading process improvements or automation initiatives.

Scope & Impact:

  • Direct impact on duty spend accuracy, broker payment integrity, and audit outcomes.
  • Lead contributor to financial control maturity and operational efficiency.
  • Key role supporting scalable, compliant global trade operations.
