Job Description: Manager, Strategic Sourcing DCL
In strong coordination and collaboration with the Sr. Manager of DCL Operations - Strategic Sourcing and Director of Disney Signature Experiences – Strategic Sourcing, this position will be responsible for managing self and team to execute against sourcing and procurement initiatives servicing Disney Cruise Lines in any of the following assortment of business unit areas and/ or functions: Dry Dock (Vessel Refurbishment), Island Procurement and Service Support, Fuel & Environmental-related Operational support; along with fleet-Expediting.
Manager will be responsible for ensuring TWDC policy is adhered to for third (3rd) party Vendor authorizations and thus will include training direct reports, peer groups, Clients and Vendors where applicable to address consistent application of company policy through streamlined tools/ process that inherently support due diligence and achieve great management of key areas: high-dollar, high-risk(S), high-volume transactions for third-party work. For key Suppliers, in said areas of responsibility, person will manage the Supplier Relationship Management program to develop Vendor and DCL’s relationship to ensure strategic relationships in the marketplace are being built and maintained in accordance with TWDC/ DCL values.
The Manager will collaborate and co-manage the execution of key sourcing initiatives related to Contract Management and strategy that addresses complex, ever-evolving, dynamic Work requirements inclusive of goods, services, construction, leases, etc. Person will help lead DCL-specific sourcing initiatives that consider all supply chain processes and can demonstrate improvement to the total cost of ownership, quality, service, and compliance.
The Manager may also be responsible for providing operational support (production) where workload may demand expertise or additional higher-level support to avoid impact to the operations. This person must be a team-player; a trusted, thought-partner for sourcing leadership and its peers; alongside with and our DCL stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
- Focus on the key metrics of Quality, Service, Cost and Compliance as it pertains to the operational support of responsible areas.
- Provide training around key Sourcing processes and tools. Training could be for internal – direct reports; Clients and/ or externally to DCL’s vendor base.
- Lead from a place of service, compassion and with the team’s best interest in mind; focusing on cast development and support.
- Evaluate total cost/supply chain management analyses to identify opportunities to reduce Total Cost of Ownership. Able to provide rigorous cost and market analysis.
- Serve as a business partner to internal key stakeholders by identifying their critical business requirements and providing sourcing support services to meet/exceed their expectations.
- Prepare and execute clear, structured negotiations and Contract(s) following established strategic sourcing processes.
- Implement cost effective technologies to increase transaction efficiencies, drive down overall cost of procurement, improve quality, and raise the level of service to our client.
- Institutionalize Sourcing performance measures that ensure supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance and performance measures are established, tracked, and achieved.
- Demonstrate exemplary integrity and ethics in all instances.
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to make informed decisions in a timely manner
- Experience in creating and holding others accountable to standard operating guidelines or procedures (SOGs/ SOPs)
- Experienced with Contract Management: includes conforming/ negotiating/ executing/ addressing change management; etc.
- Ability to provide detailed and structured cost/financial analyses.
- Customer service orientation and client-centered focus
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated capacity to influence stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
- Related industry experience ‘sourcing’ services (labor) support for maintenance - technical/ construction/ and interior Projects and/ or supply of OFE at large scale
- Understanding and ability to apply e-Sourcing/ procurement technologies.
- Experience with Coupa, Ariba, AMOS, SAP, or other ERP
- Deep understanding of external market analysis to ensure best pricing/service mix
- Knowledge of best practices within the Sourcing Discipline: SRM, Supplier Diversity, Sustainability, Supplier Alliances, Supplier Qualifications, Promotional Product Support, etc.
- Strong working of Microsoft Office Professional Suite
- Business process reengineering
- 8 plus years of experience in a Strategic Sourcing environment/ support and/ or function.
- 3 to 5 years of experiencing leading people
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- Willing to travel for Business

- CPM or similar certification
