About the Role
Disney Signature Experiences (DSE), part of the Disney Experiences segment of the Walt Disney Company, offers family travel and leisure experiences beyond theme parks, including Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, National Geographic Expeditions, Storytelling by Disney, Golden Oak, and Disney Institute.
The Disney Signature Experiences Public Affairs team enhances and protects the reputation of these businesses through storytelling, media relations, issues management, and more. This internship offers the chance to gain experience diving into pressing issues affecting the reputation of DSE businesses worldwide and to share stories across internal and external communication channels.
As an intern with the DSE Public Affairs External Communications team, you will have a front-row seat to the tremendous growth across Disney Signature Experiences. Though no two days are alike, you can expect to conduct a range of issues management and research projects, contribute to a wide variety of reputation-driving stories and content, support ongoing crisis management communication plans, help with Cast and/or Crew events on occasion, and more. We seek communicators who are passionate about delivering results and are enthusiastic about helping to tell Disney stories distinctly through compelling written and visual communication.
The intern will report to the Senior Manager of Communications.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in Orlando, Florida, from June 2026 through January 2027.
What You Will Do
Every day is different, but the responsibilities you can expect to fulfill are:
- Identify the latest industry trends and track coverage using media monitoring platforms to keep leadership and partners abreast of emerging issues.
- Dive into a wide variety of topics affecting DSE businesses through in-depth research and share your findings through briefs and presentations.
- Write engaging blog stories, social media content, press releases, and more for internal and external communication channels.
- Support a variety of events, including media engagements, photo and video shoots, and Cast/Crew activations.
- Collaborate with DSE Communications and Public Affairs teams to support day-to-day priorities, including Internal Communication, Executive Communications, Government and External Affairs, Public Relations, and others.
- Participate in a variety of professional development opportunities, including training, webinars, and more.
- Bring a commitment to diversity and inclusion, including inviting diverse perspectives, fostering an inclusive work environment, and supporting workforce diversity.
Please Apply If You Are/Have
- Strong writing skills across a range of communication channels and styles, including proficiency with the Associated Press writing style.
- Adept at researching and reporting findings in concise and thoughtful ways.
- Knowledge of the media and the current communication landscape.
- The ability to be resourceful and lead multiple project priorities.
- Strong administrative skills
- Capable of efficiently working within tight deliverables and prioritizing multiple tasks, all while maintaining a professional demeanor.
It Would Also Be Great If You Have/Are
- Previous internships or other experience working in public, media, or government relations and/or print, television, or online newsroom.
- Previous experience analyzing media coverage using media monitoring platforms.
- Experience with photo/video shoots and supporting software for content creation.
- Savvy with social media in a professional or academic setting.
- Exposure to coordinating and supporting special events.
Education
- Junior or Senior year preferred
- Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communications, or a related field.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information
- The approximate dates of this internship are June 2026 through January 2027
- Fully available from Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time Zone, with possible weekends or shifts that are outside of these hours for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, Florida area.
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
