Content Operations
Content Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering Disney’s entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and managing a global content supply chain – the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format. This team also manages technology operations in Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
Job Summary:
The Quality Management Specialist supports the Total Quality Management team the functions of Total Quality Management (TQM) in overseeing internal Distribution Operation teams to uphold quality standards. The position will manage projects to enhance processes, document workflows, and assist with monitoring business unit performance. The TQM group is responsible for helping establish and monitor business management guidelines, processes, protocols and creating effective methods of communication to ensure executive management visibility. Additionally, they ensure operational compliance, conduct root cause analyses, resolve interdependency conflicts, and provide reporting on the direct-to-consumer digital media distribution supply chain, fostering efficiency and adherence to quality protocols.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
- Create and update documentation, policies, and procedures for newly implemented or revised operational workflows.
- Assist to develop and validate processes to gather performance metrics, continuously improve reporting techniques to create standard methodologies and vocabulary for efficient data consolidation.
- Support in the collection of performance metrics for the Distribution Operations scorecard process.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure compliance to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 standard: including scheduling, assessing risk mitigation plans, and tracking remediation items.
- Maintain and manage existing documentation in the Distribution Operations file repositories and other various trackers.
- Assist in the preparation of project and audit reports, and maintain project documents including but not limited to:
- Project timelines
- Dashboard status
- Various status reports for various levels within the company
- Identify project milestones and deliverables
- Action items
- Meeting agendas
- Identify timeline risk
- Utilizing available resources to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain strong working relationships with the team and related business units
- Provide professional reports and presentations to management and business partners as requested.
- Any ad-hoc project and other duties needed to help achieve Business Objectives
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a technical operations role
- Project management experience 1 - 2 years
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, integrated team environment with frequently changing priorities
- Experience working on team or other collaborative groups
- Excellent communication abilities and adeptness in engaging with individuals with all levels of the organization
- Advanced understanding of spreadsheet reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Digital media distribution, asset management, or post-production experience preferred, but other quality management experience in manufacturing or service industries may apply.
- Understanding of video, audio, timed text formats and workflows
- Understanding of Six Sigma methodologies, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 principles.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum project management methodologies.
- Experience with Confluence/Jira, Visio, Excel, SmartSheets, and other digital collaboration tools.
- Project management certification a plus.
Experience with:
- Data analysis and visualization experience to create engaging and insightful reports for stakeholders.
- Utilize data aggregation and manipulation tools like Power BI, or DOMO for effective data management.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, or the equivalent in a working environment (Engineering, Media Production, IT, Computer Science)
The hiring range for this position in California is $64,300 to $86,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
